Ten Books That Have Stuck With Me

Challenges on social media are really becoming a thing.  Maybe they have always been a thing and I have just been oblivious.  Either way, my Facebook feed has been flooded with friends doing what I will call the Ten Book Challenge, where you list ten books that have stuck with you in some way.  While I am the first to admit that I usually find these virtual chain letter challenges annoying, I love this one, and decided to give it a go.  The point is to think of 10 books that have stuck with and influenced you in some way.  You don’t justify your inclusion of any books, you just list them and let that speak for itself.  Honestly, narrowing this down to just ten books was hard; there are just so many to choose from!  I probably “cheated” by including a series and lumping a couple of books together, but that’s just how it is.  Here are my ten books, in no particular order:

1.  The Harry Potter Series by JK Rowling

2.  Columbine by Dave Cullen

3.  A Short History of Nearly Everything by Bill Bryson

4.  Slouching Towards Bethlehem by Joan Didion

5.  The Sound and the Fury by William Faulkner

6.  Me Talk Pretty One Day by David Sedaris

7.  Angus, Thongs, and Full-Frontal Snogging by Louise Rennison

8.  There Are No Children Here by Alex Kotlowitz & High Rise Stories by Audrey Petty

9.  The Lifespan of a Fact by John D’Agata & Jim Fingal

10.  The Book of Embraces by Eduardo Galleano

What ten books have stuck with you?
