My new routine when I go up to Evanston for class on Tuesdays and Wednesdays is to get off the shuttle bus about 2 miles south of campus, where I would normally get off and walk up to campus along the lake front trail. I hop off the bus, grab my iced coffee from Starbucks and then walk over to the lake. I love walking through the neighborhood and seeing all the big historic homes that are so beautiful and once I get to the lake front trail, it’s about a 35 minute walk to campus. On Tuesday though, I had the trail all to myself, which is a rarity. Usually the path is full of other walkers, bikers, and joggers. There are moms with kids in strollers, college aged kids running, older men and women walking their dogs. But not Tuesday, probably because of impending rain and thunderstorms. It was so peaceful to have the lake front to myself for a few moments.
