Back in the fall, an Ulta opened up just around the corner from my apartment. I’ve resisted the temptation to go in because I could easily spend all my rent money at Ulta in one trip. Ulta is a makeup and beauty store, similar to Sephora, with the main difference being that Ulta carries drugstore and mass market brands in addition to the more premium or specialty makeup brands like Bare Minerals or Clinique. This also makes Ulta even more dangerous. I waited to go until I actually needed something, which today was eye makeup remover (which I did get). But then I started playing with the testers and samples and ended up leaving with a couple of additional splurges: a glittery green opalescent nail polish and a Smashbox eyeliner. To be fair, I actually will need the eyeliner in a few days, but at $20 this one is a bit pricier than the drugstore brand I typically go with. But I figured why not splurge a bit and treat myself. Now the trick is going to be not going to Ulta everyday.
